Pocket Monsters, who doesn’t love them? As somebody born in the 90’s, I’ve loved Pokémon my entire life, and still do till this day. My love has gone beyond just playing the games and collecting cards, now, I even make cocktails based off of the amazing franchise. Enjoy these cocktails (and mocktails!), next time you try to catch ‘em all.
Pikachu | First up, and for good reason, we have pikachu! If you’re gonna make this one, you simply HAVE to make his ears out of lemons. It definitely is part of the experience! |
Recipe (non-alcoholic)
*If you’d like to turn this drink into a Raichu, just add in 2 oz of Pineapple Rum and a little bit more ice! |
Next up we have the #1 starter, Bulbasaur! Leafy yet refreshing!
Recipe (non-alcoholic)
- 5 mint leaves
- 3 oz lemonade
- 2 oz blue powerade
- Shake!
- Open pour (don’t strain out the ice and mint goodness!)
- Add extra ice if needed, and top with club soda
*To evolve all the way into Venusaur, pair this mocktail with 2 oz of gin OR vodka, whatever your preference is.
Squirtle | I always have a tough time deciding on my favorite starter, but I think it has to be Squirtle. Nobody ever picks Bulbasaur on their first run, get real. |
Recipe
*To evolve into Blastoise, add in .5 oz each of gin, rum, vodka, and triple sec |

Continuing with Gen 1, we have the most overrated pokemon ever, CHARMANDER. He’s amazing, but gamefreak, what’s with the special treatment?
Recipe
- 1 oz white rum
- 1 oz orangecello
- 5 oz orange soda
- In a shot glass, pour a shot of 151
*Ignite the shot for about 15-30 seconds for a caramel taste that goes well with the drink, unless you’re a beast who plans to shoot rum 151.
**If you don’t have all 8 gym badges but want to enjoy this cocktail, just do 7 oz of orange soda and add in 1 oz of grenadine, to give that look of fire burning to the mocktail.

Slowpoke is iconic for so many reasons, and my favorite psychic type (screw you Gengar fans!). He obviously deserves a drink.
Recipe
- 2 oz pineapple vodka
- 2 oz pina colada mix
- 1 oz grenadine
- Shake
- Pour over ice
- Dry shake (no ice) 2 oz of heavy cream till whipped well
- Layer heavy cream over top
*For the slowpokes without a tail (team rocket sucks), 5 oz pina colada mix, 1 oz grenadine, 2 oz heavy cream. Follow the same steps as above.

*If you’re already at level 21, skip the blue fruit punch and use 2 oz blue rasp vodka |
Recipe:
*add 2 oz cherry vodka |

*add 2 oz passion fruit rum |
And that's just a few of my favorite Pokemon drinks I've ever made! I tried to include my best looking and tasting drinks here, but if you'd like to see more, there's countless more you can search right here on SinCityBartender.com. I hope you enjoy these next time you're playing Pokemon, whether that means shiny hunting or simply pummeling the Elite 4 with your OP starter.

Excuse, that I can not participate now in discussion – it is very occupied. But I will return – I will necessarily write that I think on this question.
